Royal Queensland Golf Club offers a development program for junior golfers like no other in Australia. Renowned for producing elite golfers, the Junior Golf Pathways Program consists of three developmental stages aimed at providing a long-term focus on the development of junior golf at the Club:
Introduction to the game of golf, including essential technical aspects of golf but also the holistic aspects of the game – friendships, fitness and fun. Participants of the Junior Development Program will be placed and progressed through the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels by the Club’s Golf Professionals depending on the junior’s skill development and maturity at each stage.
In order to progress to the next level, participants must pass age-appropriate tests that examine their ability to execute the golf and athletic skills they have developed. Gradings are held on a regular basis during the year, giving every participant the opportunity to demonstrate their improvement and ability to advance to the next level. The gradings are at the sole discretion of the golfing professional.
These programs are conducted on Sunday mornings during school terms (7 weeks per term) and provides coaching along with the opportunity to play on the course at the end of each clinic. We have a strict participant to coach ratio to ensure proper attention to individual skill development as well as maintaining safety standards.
At the end of each term, participants take part in a Championship which is played over a set number of holes dependent on the level of the participant. This is always a popular and fun way to finish each term.
Enhancing the development of golfing skills to a higher level of proficiency and enhance their competitive opportunities at Club level as well as Junior State competitions.
In addition to the clinics, the Club provides a 9-hole competition on Saturday afternoons which affords Junior golfers the opportunity to practice and further develop playing skills in a competitive environment.
