RQGC Junior Development Programme

Development Pathway

The Program consists of a Five Stage Development Pathway, which provides adequate instructions in accordance to the level of each junior. While each level are mostly age-based, the coaches reserves the right to upgrade a junior graduate to the next level if they deem that the junior has shown the skills and maturity to join the next level.

In order to facilitate the transition from one level to another, the first Three Stages comprise a 6 Level Classification System that provides incentive for the juniors to improve their skills in order to progress to the next level. This system also allows the parents to measure the golfing skills progress of their children.

Each level is represented by a wrist colour band that is given to each junior, allowing the coaches to provide information that is relevant to each junior, as the Curriculum taught differs for each level. In order to progress through each level, juniors have to pass age appropriate tests that examine their ability to execute the golf and the athletic skills they have developed. Gradings are held on a regular basis throughout the year giving an opportunity for each junior to show their improvement and advance to the next level.

It is at the sole discretion of the Professional to assess each junior to determine if they are ready to progress to the next level. At the completion of each level a presentation is made to the juniors who have completed the level. This is held at the end of the last playing lesson of the term.
