Membership Categories
Ordinary Members
Ordinary Members shall be entitled to vote, hold office on the Board or otherwise take part in the management of the Club, and shall be entitled to all privileges connected with membership of the Club.
Provisional Ordinary Members
Persons who are qualified to apply and who have applied for any category of membership and have been considered as satisfactory by the Board or Members, but cannot be admitted to the relevant category of membership until vacancies occur in the category, must be admitted as Provisional Members. Such persons shall be entitled to enjoy such rights, privileges, and benefits of membership as may be determined from time to time by the Board. Provisional Ordinary Members may play in the Saturday competition, but may book only after 3pm on Friday, and may book only after 3pm on Tuesday for the Wednesday afternoon competition. They may not vote or hold office.
Corporate Members
Corporate Members have the same golfing entitlements as Ordinary Members of the Club.
Six Day Members
Unless otherwise determined by the Board, Six Day Members shall be entitled to the same privileges as Ordinary Members except that they shall not be entitled to vote, shall not be eligible to hold office, shall not be eligible to compete in Championship or Honour Board events conducted by the Club, and shall not be entitled to play golf on any Saturday, or on any Wednesday afternoon.
Persons under the age of fifty-five (55) years shall not be eligible to become Six Day Members.
Five Day Members
Five Day Members shall be entitled to the same privileges as Ordinary Members except that they shall not be entitled to vote, shall not be eligible to hold office, shall not be eligible to complete in Championship or Honour Board events conducted by the Club, and shall not be entitled to play golf on any Saturday or Sunday. Persons under the age of sixty (60) years shall not be eligible to become Five Day Members.
Country Members
Any person who usually resides in Queensland at any place more than one hundred (100) kilometres distant from the General Post Office at Brisbane may be elected or put upon the list of Country Members during such time as he resides beyond such limit.
Unless otherwise determined by the Board, Country Members shall be entitled to the same privileges as are Ordinary Members except that they shall not be eligible to hold office, and shall not be eligible to compete in Championship or Honour Board events conducted by the Club.
Out of State Members
Any person residing permanently outside the State of Queensland shall be eligible for election or may be put upon the list of Out of State Members during such time as he or she resides outside the State. Out of State Members shall be entitled to the same privileges as Ordinary Members except that they shall not be entitled to vote, shall not be eligible to hold office, and shall not be eligible to compete in Championship or Honour Board events conducted by the Club.
Clergy Members
A clergyman of any denomination may be elected as a Clergy Member. A Clergy Member shall be entitled to all the privileges of an Ordinary Member, but shall not be liable for any Entrance Fee.
Service Members
A Commissioned Officer of Her Majesty?s Permanent Navy, Army or Air Force may be elected as a Service Member. Service Members shall be entitled to the same privileges as Ordinary Members except that they shall not be entitled to vote and shall not be eligible to hold office. Service Members shall not be liable for any Entrance Fee.
Tennis Members
Tennis Members shall be entitled to use the tennis courts on the Club?s land and the Clubhouse Facilities, and shall be entitled to play golf not more than six times in any year, but shall not be entitled to play in any golf competition conducted by the Club, shall not be entitled to vote, and shall not be eligible to hold office.
Limited Playing Members
Limited Playing Members shall be entitled to use the Clubhouse facilities, and shall be entitled to play golf on the Club links socially not more than six times in any year, and may also play in six invitation golf competitions as the guest of an eligible Member, if a handicap is held here or at another Club. They shall not be entitled to vote or to hold office.
Intermediate Members
An Intermediate Member is a Member of the Club who is at least eighteen years of age but not over twenty five years of age at the beginning of the Club?s financial year. Intermediate Members shall not be entitled to vote, and shall not be eligible to hold office, but otherwise shall be entitled to all the privileges of an Ordinary Member.
Clubhouse Members
Clubhouse Members shall be entitled to the privileges of and use of the Clubhouse facilities only and shall not be entitled to play golf on the Club links or practice facilities, shall not be entitled to vote and shall not be eligible to hold office.
Associate Members
Persons may be admitted as Associate Members in categories similar to the categories set out in this article. Associate Members shall not be entitled to vote and shall not be eligible to hold office, and Associate membership shall be subject to such conditions and restrictions as are prescribed from time to time by the Board. |
